Bocci Pendant Lighting

Bocci Pendant Lighting was designed by Omer Arbel for Bocci, a contemporary design and manufacturing house based in Vancouver, Canada.Used in your room or dining area, the feel is undeniably romantic, evoking a feeling of relaxation and intimacy. The light interacts with the imperfections, rifts, bruises and bubbles of the cast glass to make a visually rich halo of light.

I saw something like this in a prestigious club from Romania . Cast glass is an organic process, hand crafted and imperfected by nature, so each piece produced is unique.

The pendant light designed by Omer Arbel Bocci factured by is very beautiful and literally sparkling. It is recommended to be bought for high ceilings and large rooms as it eats a lot of your space. But if you provide the necessary space for it to be installed the result will be spectacular. This chandelier is not an usual one, with all the light bulbs being held by the chandelier arms, but they are rather dispersed on the ceiling.

In fact the only arms you can see are the twisted metal sticks that are woven into an unusual pattern and being fixed on the ceiling. They have some long but irregularly cut threads that keep the lights hanging. Each glass sphere that hangs is casting light and the whole pendant light looks like a constellation of stars on the night sky.

Modula’s Color Therapy Lamp

After LED Staircase Handrail Concept, now it`s time for a LED lamp which can be controlled with your cell phone if you want to change its colors. Designer Peter Kuhar explains the reason for his lamp’s adjustability:

“Different activities require different types of lighting… Green forests or blue oceans for relaxation, red and orange fires for creativity and romantics, yellow flowers for attention.”

The Color Therapy Lamp is a sleek trio of circles that hangs from the ceiling like a constellation of UFOs. It’s always good for designers to know their market!We all know in theory that colors can change our mood and influence us for the worse or for the better. But we rarely apply what we already know into practice. However, there are daring people like this designer who had the idea of using colors for therapy in a very simple way – by allowing you to change the lamp colors. It’s simple, but very effective. Change the room color according to your mood and benefit from all the technology discoveries like changing the colours by simply using your cell .{ found on 3rings }

Trifid lamp design by Lucis

There are many light design ideas, but the Trifid lamp design by Lucis seems out of the ground like a tropical plant from another planet. Its organic form white, just a note highlighted in color in shades ball, gives it a strong personality. It`s possible to use this lamp as lighting or suspension, fixed by the ceiling. I once saw a science-fiction movie where alien creatures came looking for humans and there were some long arms with a ball-like eye at the end, searching all over the place for people.

No offense, but this lamp looks just like those alien arms with eyes. However, they are pretty unusual, so original at the same time and they can be of great effect in a modern living room. No matter where you decide to place it – on the floor or on the ceiling, it will add a bit of originality to your house and you can also turn its head so as to have the light in the spot where you want it.

Knight Light by David Moreland

Knight Light by Zealand designer David Moreland. The ‘Knight Light’ is a bedside / table lamp constructed out of spun, laser cut aluminium. An exhibition set in a small space in the church where Judy Millar is exhibiting her work at the Biennale this year and will be open to the public in Venice, Italy from 3 June – 22 November 2009.

My guess is this product will be a success because it is very simple in design, yet very functional and suggestive at the same time. You only need to look once to understand the origin of its name: the Knight light. Why would a lamp be called a Knight? Well, it’s pretty easy: the lamp shade looks just like the visor of a knight’s helmet. It is made of metal and has a rectangular cut in it allowing the lamp light to get out and cast the light around it and, in parallel, allowing the knight in the shiny armour to be able to look around him looking for the demoiselle in distress.

The Bow Lamp by Valerio Cometti

Simple and luxury Bow lamp by Valerio Cometti, an Italian designer, made in his studio V12 Design is a floor lamp. Characterized by its unique arched shape, the Bow lamp is an effective union of planning and engineering. With diffuser and frame completely built in aluminum, it is anchored to the wall in two places, where it becomes a very dynamic and versatile angle light.

“When I came up with the concept of Bow, I was trying to design a lamp with a specific and versatile function (lightbulb hovering above the living room area, or the kitchen table and so on), but I wanted to design such lamp so that it had no real “body”, whose shape was provided by forces and tensions, rather than a case or a chassis (think about my Katana for ITre for instance).”

Even if it looks like a simple desk lamp, it is somehow oversized and is actually meant to be used on the floor. It is fixed on the floor at the edge , where the floor meets the wall, this way minimizing the amount of space covered. Its size allows the lamp to cast enough light for the whole room. The arched support of the lamp, high and gracious, won’t stay in your way, so the lamp is perfect if you don’t want it to take up of your room space, but still use a floor lamp and not a ceiling one.

Diva Lamps by Thomas Egset and Peter Natedal

Diva lamps was designed by two Norwegian designers Thomas Egset and Peter Natedaland which are will officially be launched at the 100% Norway show, in September during the 100% Design show in London.Diva lighting is a set of wood laminated floor and pendant light sculptures. By making a contemporary light object the two young designers, Thomas and Peter, wanted to pay their respect to the proud Norwegian heritage of wood lamination craftsmanship, and at the same time challenge or reinvent how this material can be used.

These pendant lights are good to place them over the island kitchen or over a dining table. There are easy to hang on the ceiling and provide enough light for a small room. The wood design give a special feel to the room even this one is not modern. The floor systems are special designed for corner helping to use this space hard to be decorated.
