Bubble Lamps from Foscarini

I saw many lamp design all the time, but the Bubble Lamp from Foscarini is awesome. The Bubble design is perfect for large spaces for example in a Mall or something like this. It is a lot bigger than the ordinary lamps that you keep inside the house and it is designed to be placed on the floor.

As the name suggests it, the Bubble lamp looks like a bubble, well an oversized one. It has many metallic arms on the inside that converge in the centre of the bubble and support each a disc. This disc is actually the one being lit and casting light.

Small White Light Cage by Josselin Deris

Inspired from a suspended candelabra the Small White Light Cage by Josselin Deris takes another dimension and makes a genuine note of romanticism in the piece. If you are looking for a clean and simple design then you can but it for 195 euros. This lamp has a very interesting design looking like a flower hanging from the ceiling, but only the flower strain goes down in a normal position, holding the flower “bloom” upwards so as you can admire it and it can enjoy the sunlight. It’s a bit poetic, but that’s how I see things.

The designer used a red cord for a more effective visual impact and a sort of metal cage for the bloom. I wonder if she did it to suggest that light must be protected. You know – I did see small metal cages protecting the light bulbs is less secure neighbourhoods were the street lights risked being smashed out any time. So the cage is not a prison, but rather like a protection thing.

Labware lamps By Benjamin Hubert

Here is a younger designer Benjamin Hubert from UK which has made an interesting light design and won the best product award at London’s 100% Design.Created for the brand called Authentics, the Labware is a collection of glass blown lamps that are inspired by the traditional laboratory bakers and comes in three different forms. Originally designed as floor lamps, these three forms of lamps consist of blown white glass and are plugged with stoppers that are made from bark-topped Portuguese cork.

People love these lamps because their design is a bit unusual, but unique and it reminds them of their school days when they learned to perform chemistry experiments in the lab. I am sure all of you loved these classes whether you were good at it or not because they were simply spectacular and a lot different from what we used to do in the other classes. So we all remember these glass containers we used for storing different chemicals and we love them because of the memories they trigger. So these Labware lamps designed by Benjamin Hubert are very popular.

Leti light design by Danese Milano

Danese Milano is since 1957 a pioneer in Italian design.Danese Milano offers a wide range of home design products, which fall into three main categories: living, working and light. Thus it offers a modern answer to the relationship between man and space. Leti is a part of the lighting category. The lamp is composed of molded sheet metal and is available in 4 different colors and 2 sizes. The slightly tilted perpendicular hervoragend suitable for a couple of books leaning against it.

Thus, the light even gets a second job – to support the books and offer you light for reading them. Any way, this lamp has a pretty unusual design and shape, but this makes it unique and original. The body seems a bit too short for the lamp shade which seems oversized and just too big to be handles.

But then you see the legs and you understand they are the ones supporting the whole lighting devices. You can even associate the lamp shape with that of a penguin with a big head or some strange animal with short legs and big head. But everything is professionally made, so the lamp is perfect as a lighting device no matter if you just use it on the desk or secure it to your wall.

Heavy Desk Light by Benjamin Hubert for Decode

Office tasks require a different balance of light than most other areas of the home. Home office lighting has the dual purpose of creating a comfortable work environment, while providing illumination. A floor lamp and other lighting fixtures can influence your productivity, accuracy, and minimize fatigue and eye strain. A desk lamp is more comfortable in my opinion, I have one here .Designed by Benjamin Hubert the concrete desk lamp will e launched for design brand Decode London at 100% Design in London this week.

This is a very nice lamp, perfect for those interested in quality and comfort, and less in the design and other details. It’s a very simple-looking lamp. It has no details or ornaments and the shape is also very simple. It’s actually refreshing to see such a nice lamp. These days it’s harder to fins something simple and non-pretentious in terms of design and image. Sophisticated and impressive design can be found all over the place, so it’s a lot easier to find them. It’s very strange when you think about it.

So if you’re looking for a small, simple and practical desk lamp, this is the one for you. The only variation of this design is the color. The lamp is available in either white or grey, both neutral and quite tones, again simple and not at all pretentious.

Chimney by Benjamin Hubert for Viaduct

London designer Benjamin Hubert has created a collection of clay pendant lamps for British design brand Viaduct. The lamps inner part is glazed in white that added a classy and elegant look to the product. These lamps can be placed anywhere at home. I find it perfect for huge house, and  night clubs. But giving the simple design, they would also look good in a bedroom, even in a kitchen, a living room and maybe in the office.

Still, they are not very appropriate for small homes, because of the long cord. It would look odd and out of place in a small room. The lamps are produced in a pottery studio in Wales and they are made using natural clay fro that region.  The fact that they are handmade is surprising, considering the neat and very elegant shape. This also means that each lamp is unique. It’s an impressive technique, very accurate and rewarding.

The combination of materials and textures is a little odd but the result is very beautiful.  The orange natural color of the clay is beautifully complemented by the glossy white interior. It’s a nice combination. There are basically two different shapes available for the lamps, but because they are handcrafted means that each one has its own characteristics and each one is unique. So if you like them, all you have to do is buy them. They are very versatile and would look good in any room.
