Elementary Age Boys Bedrooms

I don’t know about you all, but I find inspiration for girls’ bedrooms everywhere. Maybe it’s because, with girls, you can always be adding stuff – ruffles, ribbons, buttons, you name it – to easily achieve a fun, feminine look. The challenge for many of us comes when we decorate our boys’ rooms. It’s not that we don’t love our young sons, and it’s not that they don’t want a fun and customized space of their own. But it’s just not as easy to come up with ideas that translate as “boy.” Here, however, are some fantastic ideas:

Play Land.

Every boy’s dream. Climbing wall, above-the-bed fort with ladder, punching bag. The décor (in a traditional sense) is kept to a minimum; instead, the room’s style is showcased in activities. I love how this room keeps a loose, natural color scheme, which adds structure to the active vibe, but it isn’t kept tight so as to appear predictable. Great use of space on built-in shelves and bed drawers, making room for other things that the boy enjoys.

Space-efficient and chic shared girls’ bedroom design ideas

Twins or brothers or sisters of similar age in general usually share the same bedroom. It’s a simple way of saving space by basically squeezing two or three rooms into one and it’s also a way of allowing your children to interact and to spend more time together. However, at the same time, it’s not easy to deal with their individual preferences related to the interior décor when you have to find a way of make them all happy even when they want completely different things.

In the case of shared girls’ rooms, the main lines to follow when decorating are well-defined. The main elements to take into consideration when choosing the furniture and decorations are mostly related to texture, color and delicacy of the lines. The furniture should be chic and stylish with delicate curves and friendly shapes but it also has to be space-efficient and to incorporate plenty of storage space. It would be best to choose matching beds for a cohesive décor and to opt for built-in under bed storage in order to save some space.

15 Stylish, chic and sophisticated canopy beds for girls

Canopy beds usually fit into one of two categories. They’re either traditional or contemporary. Originally, the design for the canopy beds appeared out of necessity. At first they were a way of adding an additional layer of shelter for protection and later the canopy beds were used by lords and their main characteristic were the ability to offer warmth and privacy. Starting with the 16th century, canopy beds got simpler designs and became plain and understated.

Traditional kids’ room featuring a cornice above the bed

Nowadays, canopy beds have become a symbol of extravagance and their only role is to add style and beauty to a room. In terms of design, they are somewhat similar to four-poster beds. The traditional designs have posts at each of the four corners and feature decorative fabric draped to create a canopy directly over the bed. Modern and contemporary canopy beds don’t necessarily have posts. While traditional canopy beds have a Victorian aesthetic, modern designs aer fairly simple and have clean designs.
