Pairing Up Pretty Polka-Dot & Sassy Stripes

There’s something really fun and lively about pairing different patterns and designs. Even if it doesn’t necessarily go together or follow the typical rules of styling, eclectic tastes are still super design-worthy and fashion-forward. Today, we’re pairing up two of my personal favorites, polka-dots and stripes. They each have a distinct personality but share two key ingredients: youth and life. Decorating with these two make for a fun unique space, let’s see how.

1. Subtle.

You can still be subtle with such vivacious pairings and designs. On the walls or even on the bedding, you can create a fun little home for your baby to enjoy. The patterns will add texture and interest to the walls making it a bit more of a unique nursery but it won’t be too over-the-top for such little eyes.

5 Ways To Display All Your Cupcake Liners!

Whether you’re a baker or you dream of being one, it’s safe to say that many of us have just way too many cupcake liners waiting to be filled with delicious, moist scrumptious-ness. While they’re waiting to be filled, what do you do with them? Hide them in the back of the cabinets, making it even harder to remember to use them? Scrunch them up in plastic bags making it impossible for them to be used? Well, how about taking all those precious, festive liners and creating some functional decor? There are plenty of fun ways to display these cuties and not only will you remember to use them, but they’ll add a playful element to the kitchen that you didn’t have before!

1. Clear, Glass Jars.

I’ve done this in my own home because of its fun, cozy feel. All you need is a clear glass jar to make it happen. Then, just pile all your liners inside. It’s playful in style but you can actually see what you have, what you need and where the ones you want are to use. This is especially useful when you’re trying to find your seasonal liners.

In most cases, your home has a mantle, even if you don’t have a fireplace! There’s usually something on the walls that acts like the focal point for the entire space. Instead of doing the traditional, dull designs, it’s easier to display your character by incorporating a lot of eclectic, unique pieces into a collage! So, it’s only natural that we make that space look stylish and allow it to express bits and pieces of the family’s personality. 1. Framed.

For some reason, I usually have too many frames than I have space for. But I also find myself eying beautiful vintage frames at every thrift store I visit. What you can do with all those unused, yet charismatic piece is fill the mantle! It’s textural, it’s architectural and incredibly fun and playful. Just throw a couple of posters, prints or photos in the mix along with your bare frames.
