Abali Gran Sultanato Hotel in Sicily – Italy

If you ever want to travel in the amazing world of the 1001 Arabian nights, you don’t necessarily have to go to the Arab world, but a lot closer, somewhere in Italy, in Sicily – Palermo to be more precise. I am talking about a very unusual, yet very famous hotel in Sicily that is well known for its special design that makes it very much similar with an Arabian house.

It is called the Abali Gran Sultanato Hotel and all the rooms in it are specially arranged so as to suggest an Arab atmosphere and to look like a harem.

Private and elegant Outdoor Terrace at Blues Point Hotel

The Blues Point Hotel is located in Sydney, Australia and it is has a very nice art deco style that is more visible in the interior but also continues on the exterior with this very elegant terrace designed by Carter Williamson Architects.

What is really interesting about this terrace are the 30 m tall Norfolk Pine walls that envelope the entire place. This ingenious solution that the designers came up with is a great way to solve the noise problem. The terrace had to respect the neighbours by keeping the noise down and maintaining privacy, and that is exactly what is does is a very stylish way.
