BRC Designs
Displayed in the ICFF booth during the recent international fair, the BRC Designs provides a host of options for the users. Designed by Benjamin Rollins Caldwell who is famous for his use of unusual materials for manufacturing functional items, the designs are very user friendly.
One of the premier items was the plywood Cherner-Armchair that was designed way back in 1958 and became the mid-century icon. Subsequently the chair went out of production but was revived by Benjamin and Thomas in 1999. Reintroducing the designs the company now continues to produce the chairs that was originally produced in 1958.
People that wish to have something out of the traditional with some unique characteristics will love the BRC Designs and anything made using such designs. Many of them revive the classic designs that have gone out of market long since but such revival is not without the artistic touch of contemporary.

Hey Stefan,
Thanks for your interest in BRC Designs and the write up. I just wanted to clarify that it was Benjamin Cherner and Thomas Cherner who put the Cherner Armchair back into production in 1999. They are the Children of the designer, Norman Cherner. I am a great admirer of the Cherner chair and recently made a blog post about the Cherner Legacy, however I am in no way involved in the Cherner Chair Company.
BRC Designs is influenced by mid-century design but we design and fabricate all of our original designs.
Thanks again for the write up
