Bedroom fireplaces – a way of making this room even more warm, cozy and inviting

The bedroom is the area of the house that is usually the coziest. It’s a private space, designed for relaxation. It needs to be serene and calm but it also needs to feel warm and inviting. One way of making that possible is to use appropriate colors and textures for the décor. But there’s also an element that will completely change the atmosphere and will make a turn in the right direction: a fireplace. It’s common for people to have fireplaces in their living room but, when you think about it, their place is in the bedroom.

When you sit in your cozy armchair in front of the fireplace and you watch the flames and your mind drift away you wish you could just fall asleep there. Sadly, you have to move to the bedroom to do that. A bedroom fireplace, however, is very relaxing. It allows you to lay back and just clear your mind while listening to the wood crackling and watching the flames change color and shape. A fireplace adds warmth to a space and it changes the whole atmosphere.

As usually, there are plenty of options when it comes to design. Traditional fireplaces look best in spacious bedrooms with architecture that follows the same style. A white fireplace is a classical. You can put some family pictures on the mantel or anything else that makes you feel comfortable. Of course, a fireplace encased in stone would be an even more dramatic statement. It would make the décor even more inviting. You can have a whole wall covered in stone or just the portion above and around the fireplace.

There’s also another option: a modern fireplace. It’s true that they don’t have the same effect as traditional fireplaces but they are still an elegant and beautiful addition to any space. They are also safer and easier to maintain.{picture sources:1,2,3,4 and 5}.
