Beautiful residence with a contemporary design

This is Casa Up, a beautiful residence with a contemporary design. The house has been designed by Italian architects Es Arch – Enrico Scaramellini Architetto. Even though it’s only a one-bedroom house, this is a very airy and spacious home. The house is located in Madesimo, in the Italian region of Lombardy, a popular tourist region for winter sports. The house was actually built a while ago. However, over time is got deteriorated and old until the point where it needed a renovation. That’s when the architects were asked to help. The project included the reconstruction of this old building.

The team was asked to respect the original layout but to also try to bring a contemporary touch to the house. The original structure of the house was separated into two volumes. There was the ground floor and the first floor.

The ground floor includes a very large space divided into three rooms. On the first floor there’s a barn with access from the southern side. The house features a double opening on the east side and a large entrance to the south. The architects faced several challenges while working at this project. They had to respect the context and the structural of the original house, preserve the volumes while also build a contemporary architecture. They also needed to do that without creating contrasts.
