Beautiful penthouse apartment by Christopher Polly Architect

Somewhere in Sydney, Australia there’s a very beautiful penthouse apartment that has been designed and built by Chirstopher Polly Architect in collaboration with structural engineer Simpson Design Associates and builder Paul King Pty Ltd. The project measures 100 sqm plus 55 sqm (terrace) and the construction was completed in 2011.

The apartment is located within the Easthaven building that was originally designed by Ancher Mortlock & Murray in the late 50’s. The building offers views of Sydney Harbor to the north and Double Bay and Point Piper to the east, even more beautiful from the penthouse. The project we’re discussing here involved the complete internal reconfiguration of a top floor penthouse.

As a result, the kitchen and the bathroom have been considerably improved. The living room and the terrace also got some new fixture like lighting and storage. Moreover, the penthouse has been completely refurbished in order to achieve a fresh new look.

Some areas have been connected, like the guest room and the living room that are now delimitated through the use of sliding and pivoting panels. The penthouse also got a new study and a sitting area that were previously not part of the design. The kitchen is connected to the terrace through sliding doors and frameless corner windows. The interior is minimalist and features chic modern furniture in bright colors and beautiful contrasts.{found on archdaily and pics by Brett Boardman}
