Beautiful DIY Wine Bottle Lantern

You can always appreciate a glass of a good wine at a delicious meal or a great party. Sometimes even you are more attracted to the savor of the liquor, the design of the wine bottle may also be a point of attraction. It happens that sometimes you receive as a present such a beautiful bottle or you may also collect it as a souvenir from your journeys. So, you cannot give up to it so easy also you might have finished its content.

You can reuse it as something else and here it is an interesting idea. You can transform it into a beautiful DIY Wine Bottle Lantern. Here are the materials you need: an empty wine bottle, a drill, safety glasses and gloves (just in case the bottle breaks), 1/2″ glass drill bit, masking tape, short strand of Christmas lights (with a plug only on one end).

Rinse out your wine bottle and remove the labels (if desired). Place a piece of masking tape on the bottle where you want to drill the hole for the cord. The tape keeps the drill bit from slipping. Put on your gloves and goggles and start drilling. Don’t apply too much pressure or you could break the glass.

The drilling takes a long time. I spent about 30 minutes drilling the hole. Once your hole is drilled rinse the glass shavings out of your bottle, and let the bottle dry. Carefully feed the strand of Christmas lights into the hole you drilled. Now you can enjoy its beautiful glow and the wonderful atmosphere that it will create inside your home.
