Beautiful Café at 3465 California Street
Terry and Terry Architecture transformed a retail shop into a neighborhood café/bakery in San Francisco, California. The project turned out very well and the site is now the perfect place to drink your coffee or dine.
Siting on a 2000sqf site, Rigolo Café was a beautiful place to begin with, but it lacked natural lighting and the lofty feel. To make this happen the architects removed the low-lying drop ceiling to reveal the existing roof structure, which consists of beautiful dark beams, and inserted a slit skylight, flooding the space with natural light.
Furthermore, they designed a wood ribbon wall in order to connect the front and the back entrances, and with this they also provided built-in seating. Combining the ribbon wall with the wooden beams the café seems to be a bigger and more interesting place.
Featuring a terrace and French-inspired menu the Rigolo Café is the best place to be at lunch.
