Arc Chair from West Elm

They say all roads go to Rome and when you are in Paris all roads go to the Arch of Triumph. It is a very famous monument that is dedicated to the soldiers who died in WW2. Apparently this monument can be a source of inspiration for furniture designers, especially if its shape is so unique and easy to recognize. This Arc Chair is said to have also been inspired by the Greek chair called Klismos, but the point is that it is indeed an arched chair with a beautiful shape and great looks. The chair is made of solid wood, both for the legs and the frame. It is also comfortably upholstered.

This chair is an amazing engineering piece of work, as it is made of parts with different geometrical shapes and angles. For example the seating is square, the front legs totally straight, while the back legs are angled so as to offer maximum stability. The back rest is gracefully curved, following the natural curve of the human back. All these put together make a very nice overall result. It is available in barley-stained ash veneer and now it can be ordered from West Elm for a special offer of $339.00 – $424.00 .
