Amazing Greek Summer Home

I don’t know about you guys but as soon as my eyes say the first picture I knew that this is about Greece. They have a lot of vivid traditions and they try to preserve and pass them to the new generations. When people hear something about Greece in their heads a mental picture is instantly drawn. Sandy beaches, turquoise waters, remote islands and the mythical gods make Greece very easy to identify. But there is more, much more.

Architecture for instance is a part of Greece since the beginning. In ancient times on this blessed land people had a lot of preoccupations among them: literature, cosmology, architecture, advanced mathematics and philosophy. With such a rich heritage Greece thrived.

Greek kitchens had a traditional wood burning stove with a special place to clear out the smoke. As we can see the original layout was kept and fitted with modern appliances. Limestone is also a huge part of this house. You might not noticed it or mistaken it with simple white paint, but on the walls there is a special mixture similar to the modern plaster or some kind of interior wall putty made of water, limestone and other local ingredients. At least the traditional homes used to have it all over, because is white, is clean and incredibly durable.{found on yatzer and pics by Yiorgos Kordakis}.
