Altdeutsche Möbel Furniture Collection by Studio Job

Life is a chain of experiences that sometimes seem to overwhelm us and each time we try to find an explanation for them. Most of the times we just guess their meaning or try to express our own opinions related to different facts whether all these things have a hidden and mysterious essence or meaning.

Here it is an interesting furniture collection which consists of three components that gather some symbols of what life may mean or may feature. The collection is called “Altdeutsche Möbel” and it was designed by the Dutch- Belgian duo Studio Job for the Dutch brand “Moooi”.

A blanket chest, a grandfather clock and a cupboard are the pieces that compose this collection, made of solid wood, stained in white and which feature “a network of symbolic images creating a tightly knot pattern that reproduces the colorful,chaotic and mysterious nature of life”. You can notice the colorful images of things like: red roses, yellow trumpets on the clock, fish, green and pink candles, yellow tennis balls, bombs or red apples on te blanket chest, yellow bananas, red and black dice, white skeletons, purple flowers, keys, diamonds, rackets or axes on the cupboard.

All these pictures were derived from the decorative manner antique Frankish furniture. It is nice the fact that all the time these furniture pieces will make you think of different aspects of life and each time you can find new and new interpretations of these signs. The collection represents what life can mean and a great source for all kinds of philosophies about life.
