Add some travel flair to your home’s interior décor
If you’re a passionate traveler then you must also have all sorts of souvenirs that you brought with you over the years. Those are unique items with great sentimental value and they deserve to be displayed for everyone to see. So don’t just throw them in a box under the bed. Include them into your home’s interior décor. It’s amazing how even the smallest of details can change the atmosphere.
Wall art.
If you enjoy decorating your home, you should set a goal to bring a piece of artwork every time you travel somewhere. You’ll be able then to create a beautiful gallery. But it doesn’t necessarily have to be a premeditated action. You could also gather some of the things you’ve already brought with you from your travels and display them on a wall.
Travel pictures.
Everyone takes pictures when they go in vacation or somewhere special. It’s a way of immortalizing those beautiful moments and a way of taking some of that charm back home. If you have beautiful pictures from your travels, don’t be afraid to display them.
Maps.
You could also only make subtle suggestions regarding your recent travels without actually displaying any objects or items brought from there. An idea would be to use decorative maps. It’s a nice way of keeping track of the places you have visited and of making plans for the next trip.
Lights.
Some countries may inspire you to get a particular time of objects as a souvenir. For example, if you go to Morocco, you might want to bring back a pair of petit Moroccan-style pendants that you can hang above your vanity or anywhere else.
Accessories.
The most common type of souvenirs that people bring back from their travels and vacations consists of accessories. They don’t have a specific use. They are items that you can only display. Some people prefer something more useful in place of a decoration while others enjoy decorating their homes with all sorts of beautiful elements.
Textiles.
Some areas are known for their unique patterns, textiles and fabrics. So if ever get the chance to visit one of those areas don’t hesitate to bring back a textile souvenir. It can be anything from a table cloth to tapestry.
