A warm interior based on contrast and simplicity, designed by Cecconi Simone

When a space is usually described as “warm” or “inviting” you usually picture a décor that bursts with color, with wooden furniture and with pastel-colored walls. But that’s not always the case. In fact, we have the perfect example to illustrate that. This is the Yorkville Penthouse. It’s been designed by Cecconi Simone and it can be found in Toronto, Canada.

The penthouse has a striking contemporary interior design and you might be tempted to think that the décor is based on the black and white combo. In fact, while it’s true that white is a main color, the contrasting shade is not black but rather dark brown. There’s a fine distinction between these shades and it’s the detail that allows the décor to feel warm instead of rigid and cold.

The penthouse has been organized in three distinct zones. One would be the interior courtyard, the second one is the public area and the third one is represented by the private zone. The designer managed to add sophistication and warmth to the mix in the case of this interior design by option for a very simple but also elegant and charming combination of colors and textures.

By using wooden furniture with dark finishes, the designer manages to create strong contrasts between these pieces and the white background represented by the walls, ceilings and light-colored flooring. Some of the other materials used for this project include Italian limestone, white
marble and glass.

The interior courtyard is a north-facing space which allows you to enjoy a relaxing atmosphere and soothing décor with natural light, flowing water on the walls and the green space outside. The entertainment zone has access to an exterior terrace and it includes a gourmet kitchen with a breakfast bar, a dining room, the living room and an outdoor living space with a water feature.
