A serene apartment featuring a white interior and a beautiful balcony

There are lots of strategies that you can adopt when decorating your apartment. Depending on the effect you’re trying to achieve you can either opt for bold or soft colors, for modern or vintage furniture and for sophisticated or casual elements. For example, if you want your apartment to be a calm and serene space where you can relax and unwind after a busy day at work, you can find some inspiration from these photos.

This apartment features a soft color palette with pastels and a lot of white. This creates a spacious décor, an airy atmosphere, a clean and fresh look. However, white is a cold color and it can quickly become overwhelming or dull. To avoid that, the strategy in this case was to use bold and colorful accent features.

Depending on the room and its function, the strategy was adjusted. For example, the bedroom is very serene and relaxing. It features white walls expect for one accent wall that features a patterned wallpaper. However, the color chosen for the wallpaper is not a bold one but a gentle shade of grey with white inserts.

For the living room, the strategy is a little different. The walls are also white and the floor has a light finish. There is no accent wall but instead a small portion in the reading corner features a simple, black painted silhouette of tree branch. The chair is black and this creates a very strong but elegant contrast. Throughout the room there are all sorts of colorful little details. The same strategy was also used for the rest of the apartment.{found on Alvhem}.
