A four seasons Japanese Residence

Here I am again, after a long break, to write you about another house that I like and which I consider inspiring in terms of light, flow of air and use of art. What once used to be a samurai residence was turned by Keiji Ashizawa and Rie Honjo into an ideal house, which seems to bring the landscape inside.

Located in the center of Tokyo, this home seems to breathe a special air, as if the perfect combination of art and furnishings wanted to emphasize what the Japanese are capable of, once again. Both the environment and the design of the house have an essential impact on the people who get to see this location.

One of the impressive aspects is represented obviously by the gardens on each floor of the house; this idea of the four seasons brought together in the same place provides different light and feelings for the ones who witness the spectacular view. Everywhere you look, you have the same feeling that the materials, light, air and the space as a whole perfectly fit together and at the same time, the art objects and furnishings function together in the most convincing harmony that can exist in a house.

The complex structure of the house seems unreal in the atmosphere where details and colors make the rule and every little object is silent but so important in its unique identity. The wide space, the natural light and the use of wood make the rooms inviting and comfortable, the stairs promise to reveal even more beauty, while the landscape provides perfect natural beauty.{found on archdaily and pics by Daici Ano}
