A Charming Stone Cottage On The West Coast of South Africa

Not all cottages have rustic designs but they are definitely all very charming. Cottages are, by definition, modest and cozy dwellings and they are typically found in rural or semi-rural locations. This allows them to be the getaway one needs when daily life becomes too stressful and when a break from everything sounds like a heavenly reward.

This stone cottage can be found on a private reserve on the West Coast of South Africa. Here the atmosphere is quiet, calm and relaxing. The image of the undisturbed beach is something you can admire while relaxing in the bedroom. It seems like an amazing and perfect location. The cottage was built using only local stone and the design was chosen to allow it to blend in into the landscape. It’s why the cottage has apparently unfinished walls and textures and all those organic shapes and forms. The simplicity of this place is absolutely spectacular. The rooms are not particularly specious. The living room is quite small. It has a pitched roof with wooden beams and exposed wood structures, the walls are white and have an organic, bumpy surface and the furniture is traditional. The windows are small but they offer wonderful views of the beach and the water. As for the decorations and accent features, they are simple and in tone with the whole design. The rest of the rooms are also quite, cozy and simple.{found on houseandleisure}.
