A 40 square meter flat with a clever and spacious interior décor by Pressenter Design

The actual size of a house or apartment is very important when you decide to get yourself a new home. However, if for various reasons you end up with a small place, this doesn’t mean you’ll have to live in a cluttered, tiny home with no room for anything. In fact, the interior design is just as important as the size and it can change everything.
For example, this 40 square meter loft features a modest size but, nevertheless, it looks spacious and airy. The interior design was a project by Polish firm Pressenter Design.

The loft was bought by a mother and her 6 year old daughter and this meant that the interior design had to be simple as to save space and to avoid making it seem cluttered but it also needed to include some smust0have features such as a study area for example.

When designing and decorating this place, the focus was on creating a flexible space that would respond to the growing needs of its inhabitants. Both the mother and the daughter needed spaces of their own. The mother needed a small space where she could relax and unwind after a stressful day at work while the daughter needed a place to study during school time as well as some room to play in her free time.

Since there wasn’t enough space for a separate study room, this area was incorporated into the living room. It features storage cupboards and plenty of space for supplies. The long desk is perfect since it allows both mother and daughter to use it at the same time, whether they’re doing different things or working at the homework. A similar design was adopted for the rest of the loft. Overall, the interior design is very simple and the focus is on functionality.
