In just a few weeks spring will be here. So now is the time for a bit of cleaning, sprucing and re-styling. And that doesn’t mean just the closets, but your kitchen too! There are several ways to get your kitchen in tip-top shape for spring dinners and afternoon tea. Some brightening, some accessorizing and some organizing are all included. Let’s take a look at these simple, quick and easy ways to get your kitchen ready for the beautiful springtime weather!

1. Change the tablecloth.

Whether you want to just take away the thicker linen or add some with a fresh, floral print, it’s time to change the table linens. Add a bright and vibrant color or polish the wood dinner table to liven the space up. Soon, the sun will be peaking through those bay windows and you want everything to sparkle just like it will be outside!

2. Organize the cupboards.

It’s time to take everything out of the cabinets and pantries. Throw away expired items and organize all your dishes, bowls and glasses. This will give you a fresh start to the season. Grab some canisters to organize foods like cereals, sugars, flour and coffee beans. It’ll look a lot more stylish and be easily accessible.

It’s time to show your oven some love. Hopefully, your oven as an auto-clean option. If not, you’re going to have to get down and dirty. You don’t have to clean your oven too often but the spring is a great time to get this done since you’re already doing so many other things around the house.

Grow some fresh herbs on the windowsill and set out some beautiful flowers on the kitchen counter. Fresh plants add instant vivaciousness and personality to a space. And, there’s nothing that says spring better than a beautiful floral arrangement. This is also a great way to bring color into a neutral kitchen.

5. Mop the floors.

Of course, all year long we sweep the tile and swifter the hardwood floor. But, we don’t all get out the mop and get to business every week. The last thing on the list should be to mop those floors. This will sanitize and shine up any scuff marks made with those winter boots dragging in and out of the house.
