500m² Living Room For A Family With One Child by Caramel Architects

Contrary to your beliefs, 500m² Living Room is the actual name of the whole house, not just the living room. This is a contemporary property, with an unusual design and a curved silhouette, located in Vienna, Austria. The residence was designed and built by Caramel Architects and it was completed in 2010. It’s a contemporary house featuring four levels, three of which are situated above ground and one below.

The residence would make a great home for a family with children. The total area occupied by the floors is 300m² of living space. The house sits on a 500-square-meter plot on a grassy meadow with trees. In order to adapt the building’s design to the environment, the ground-floor living and dining areas are linked to the garden, thus creating an indoor-outdoor space where the transition is made gradually and smoothly.

Moreover, the outdoor entertaining area also includes the pool and a terrace featuring rounded corners. The ground floor features semitransparent polycarbonate elements, thus creating the appearance of a larger space and continuing the same open and airy design. The interior of the house shares the same characteristics as the exterior, with curved lines and rounded corners, minimalist pieces of furniture and sunny rooms. The only elements that add some sparkle to this place are the lighting fixtures that also act as decorative elements.
