5 Ghost-Centered DIY Crafts

Call me the Halloween Grinch, but carving pumpkins isn’t among my favorite holiday past times. That being said, however, I also don’t want to be excluded from the festivities just because I’m leery of a little goop. Enter: ghost crafts. These easy DIY projects are appropriate for kids and grownups of all ages and skill levels…and the end results are endearingly animated with just a touch of eerie ghostiness. As a mom of three squeamy and screamy young girls, this cute-to-spook ratio is perfection.

Cheesecloth and starch – these can be made in any shape and size. I love the floating arms on this one in particular. This is a great activity for kids, especially because you can match their skill level, making the end result as simple or complex as you’d like.{found on everydayisacraftingday}.

Cheesecloth strikes again, this time in life-size. The many layers and wispy, um, “arms” on this ghost make it a delightfully spooky decoration during the day or night. Placing pumpkins of various colors underneath this yard haunter is a festive Fall touch.{found on hgtv}.

Even your youngest Halloween friends can enjoy making these inexpensive and instantly gratifying ghosts! Made out of empty, clean milk or juice bottles, you can customize the ghost faces and light them up…with plenty of time left over to carve a pumpkin or two. (Or not! That’s the beauty of these things.){found on themommiesnetwork}.

Made out of silk leaves, these little googly-eyed ghosts are perfectly seasonal. You could probably use real leaves (after you’ve flattened and dried them) for the same effect, although these wouldn’t last more than this season. Super simple and fast, these are a fun alternative to an otherwise boring afternoon!{found on themoodyfashionista}.

How about some ghost luminaries? Turn a simple glass jar, some mod podge and glitter, and a votive into these sparkly friendly ghosts. My favorite part about this craft is the variety of ghosts you can make just by using differently shaped glass jars/vases.{found on embellishedbayou}.
