10 Easy DIY Projects To Try This Weekend

Using just a sharpie you can make all sorts of great things such as decorate plates and cups. First clean the bowl, plate or cup, do the doodle and then bake it in the oven for 30 minutes.{found on shescalledclaire}.

Two belts, a juice jar, some plants and a pebbles and the materials you can use to make a hanging planter. Take off the label and measure the belts. One will be wrapped around the neck of the jar and the other from the bottom up. Mark where you want to punch holes. Then put pebbles, moss and plants inside the jar. Mason jars are excellent for all sorts of projects. An easy idea is to make vases. All you need is some clean jars and acrylic paint in the colors you like. Pour some paint into the jar and rotate it slowly to spread the paint evenly. Place it mouth-side down on paper, leave it for 20 minutes and then put it face up to cure overnight.{found on self}.

Another idea can be to make your photo frames look more interesting. You’ll need some tape to wrap around the frame and some gold spray paint. Spray paint the tape, let it dry and mark the frames with a pencil. Then decorate the corners of the frames with the tape.{found on urbanejane}.

Here’s how you can make your planters look more interesting. First paint the pots. Use either spray paint or acrylic paint. Let them dry and apply washi tape to section off an area. After that, apply a thin layer of glue and then the gold leaf.{found on missrenaissance}.

Another interesting thing you can make is a chalkboard serving platter. You need a porcelain platter, tape, chalkboard paint, a paint brush and an oven. Clean the platter, mask off the edges with tape and apply the paint. Remove the tape and let the paint dry for 24 hours. Using a can, rope and glue you can make a very pretty vase. Clean the can and remove the label. Then put glue on one end of the rope and attach it to the bottom of the can. Start wrapping the rope tightly until you reach the top. Trim the rope and glue the edges to the can.{found on baysidebride}.

Here’s another simple project: golden votives. To make them, you need clear glass votives, metallic gold paint and a paint brush. We saved the best for last: a lightbulb vase. First, remove the little silver layer on the bottom of the light bulb. Then remove the black cap . You can use pliers or a hammer but be very careful.
